Thank you for your commitment to ongoing education and professional development! As a result of changes to grant procedures, professional learning emphases, and funding amounts, we are piloting a new process to request funding for professional development conferences and travel requests.
The first step in the process is to complete and submit a new required Google doc application form. The form does not allow you to save it as a draft while completing it (though you can edit after submittal); therefore, please CLICK HERE to view a file outlining all the information you will need in order to complete the Google doc form so you can be prepared. Some important notes:
- Instructional staff members should receive permission from their direct supervisor AND the relevant curriculum leader before submitting this application; non-instructional staff members should receive permission from their direct supervisor. This permission does not guarantee that funding will be available or approved, but is required for the application to be processed.
- If multiple people are attending the same event, only one application should be completed detailing both the per person costs and the total costs for all people. If multiple people fill out applications for the same event, the costs will be combined into a total cost that will be used to determine the tier, and you may have to supply additional information to be considered.
- The approval committee meets on the first Monday of each month. This form should therefore be completed by the last day of each month in order to be considered at the next month's meeting (e.g., an application on November 30 will be considered at the December 1 meeting). You will hear back no later than the 15th of the month in which your application is considered.
- If airfare is being requested, the form should be submitted 90 days in advance to allow for processing, approval, and purchasing at affordable prices. If airfare is not being requested, the form should be filled out 30 days in advance.
- If you are interested in receiving license renewal points for the event, you DO NOT have to fill out a separate form. Pre-approval for points is included in this form.
- You do not fill out a Travel A form at this time. If approved, you will be notified to submit a Travel A form.
